Making Appointments
Office visits are scheduled on an appointment basis. We request that you please call for an appointment prior to coming to the office. Each child must have their own appointment time, so please remember to schedule an appointment for any siblings you feel need to be seen. This is done in an effort to decrease patient wait times and to insure more prompt service.
If you are unsure or have questions please don’t hesitate to contact us at one of our offices.
We respect your time as valuable and do not like to keep you waiting, but for us to be on time, we ask that you arrive a few minutes early for your appointment to get checked in and take care of any paperwork. Patients that arrive more than 15 minutes late for an appointment may be asked to reschedule their appointment, as they have missed their appointment time. Although we will never deny your child medical care if needed, if you arrive late for a sick appointment, you will have to wait to be seen when you can be “fit in” with whomever the next available provider may be. This may all be avoided by arriving on time, or a few minutes early, for your appointments.
Sick children and adolescents will be seen on the same day in most cases. Non emergent visits may be schedule for the next day. We are also available to answer questions in cases where you may be unsure if your child or adolescent needs an appointment.
Well visits are scheduled on a regular well child visit schedule. Once the initial visit is complete, future visits in the first 2 years of life are generally scheduled at the time of the current visit.
Failure To Keep Appointments
Failure to keep a scheduled appointment and not canceling is considered to be a “no show.” “No shows” are disruptive to good medical care and inconsiderate of other patients. These appointments may be subject to a charge of a standard office visit, and are not covered by insurance. Please be respectful of others and cancel your appointment if you are unable to make your scheduled time.
The Future
In the future, we hope to provide a patient portal on this web site where patients or their parents can request appointments on line. We look forward to this new and exciting way to make “seeing the Doctor” easier.
