My name is Tracie Abrams.  I am a registered nurse and lactation consultant.  I graduated with a nursing degree in 2001 from Radford University.  I have always had a passion for pediatrics and my career started in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.  During that time, I started a family of my own.  My very own experience turned my focus and attention to women’s health and lactation, and I have been working with women and infants ever since. 

My four children, over the span of twelve years, were breast-fed, bottle-fed, formula-fed and received milk from other mothers. These experiences were varied and diverse.  It was such a testament to me that every parent and child has their own story to tell. I feel privileged to be a part of these stories and help families reach and work towards their feeding goals.  My focus is helping a mom and baby receive the experience that suits and works for them, while making sure each is as healthy and happy as can be.

​Dustin Bogan is a board-certified physician assistant and fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Physician Assistants in Pediatrics. Raised in Warm Springs, a rural area in Virginia, Dustin became familiar with the vast need for improved access to quality health care. In addition to patient care, he has served as a care coordinator, graduate-level educator, and mental health advocate. He has created and implemented a Trauma-Informed Leadership Team, presented at regional conferences on suicide prevention, and is able to provide behavioral interventions and skill training to his patients.

In his personal time, Dustin enjoys kayaking, travel, music, the beach, and volunteering with organizations devoted to cancer research and animal rescue. Dustin lives with his better half, Tiffany, their son, and three dogs just outside of Richmond.

Like her partners, she completed her Pediatric Internship and Residency at the Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Mulreany has three children. Besides her family, her hobbies include walking, reading and vacation.

Her special Pediatric Medical interests are mental health, and promoting children’s abilities and help with their disabilities.

Katherine, better known as Katie, was born in Richmond, Virginia, and raised in North Chesterfield. She graduated from James River High School, with honors, in 2003.

Katie continued her education after high school at Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Pediatrics. She excelled in the Honors College, minored in Spanish, and graduated magna cum laude. Katie, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner, is certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. During her school career, Katie visited Spain, studied abroad in Mexico, and helped build houses in Costa Rica.

When Katie is not caring for her patients, she spends time and vacations with friends and family, both locally and all over the world. She enjoys trying new restaurants, eating dinner with friends, cooking on the grill, boating, wake surfing, and attending concerts featuring her favorite country music artists. She loves games, all sorts, but especially if they involve a basketball. She even coached the girl’s basketball team at her church for a few years. Katie continues to spend time with the families she worked with in her earlier years as she developed long lasting strong bonds with them and especially loves playing with their children and teenagers.

She strives to stay punctual during the day while still giving each patient her undivided attention and superior care. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys all sports, including rooting for her favorite teams (The Washington Redskins and The Atlanta Braves) as well as listening to music (especially live), hiking, and serving at the Bon Air Christian Church working with the Youth Group and as a Sunday School teacher. She also serves on the Virginia Outdoor Ministries Committee and works as a Director for The Church’s Regional Camp, Craig Springs.

Since completing her pediatric training, Dr. Gordon has been providing pediatric care in Hopewell and Colonial Heights for nearly 6 years. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and values the trust that she builds with her patients and parents. She believes in listening to her patients, which helps her provide great patient care.

She lives in Chesterfield with her husband, Julian, and chocolate lab, Coco! She enjoys fishing, snowboarding, DIY projects around the house, hiking, and reading.

Dr. Henderson has always enjoyed serving the Christian community, and after completing Residency, he spent one year in Papua New Guinea, serving as a medical missionary at Kudjip Nazarene Hospital. Dr. Henderson enjoys all aspects of pediatrics from newborns to college age, and has a special interest in using holistic osteopathic philosophy and preventive education in evaluating and treating his patients. He is accepting new patients for routine physicals and sick visits.

In her spare time, she loves taking long walks with her husband Brian and labradoodle puppy Lucy, playing volleyball, exploring local parks, and trying all the good food Richmond has to offer.

Dr. Abernathy was raised in Houston Texas and is a true Texan at heart. After a short period in New Orleans, LA, he went to the Virginia Military Institute where he graduated as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Dr. Abernathy attended the Medical College of Virginia and after receiving his medical degree, he continued there as a Pediatric Intern and then Resident.

After residency, he completed an Adolescent Medicine Fellowship and initially worked in the Adolescent Clinic at the Medical College of Virginia. Missing the infants and children, Dr. Abernathy started private practice in Richmond Virginia with a dream and a vision to develop a pediatric practice that could meet all of the needs of his pediatric and adolescent patients.

Dr. Abernathy has three children and currently 8 grandchildren. His early special interests outside of medicine lead him to a commercial pilot’s license and a career in aviation as he developed his medical practice. His hobbies include scuba diving, his grandchildren, and he is currently writing a book about how children grow.

His special interests now are the operation of the office and the growth of the Better Life Center.

Dr. Sylvia Lee was born in Poland but grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. She attended The University of Virginia for her undergraduate education and then settled in Richmond in 1998. She attended the Virginia Commonwealth University -School of Medicine for medical school and her Pediatric residency. She has been practicing pediatrics for over 12 years, both in private practice and providing care to our military’s children at Fort Lee.

Dr. Lee loves pediatrics because of the relationships she can form with patients and families as she helps guide children and their parents through the growth and developmental milestones of childhood and adolescence. She is a devoted advocate for her patients and collaborates with specialty providers to provide integrated care. She enjoys all aspects of pediatrics but is especially passionate about the mental health and preventative care of our children.

Dr. Lee appreciates her time and experience in military medicine but is excited to return to PAHP. When she is not working, Dr. Lee devotes her time to her two sons and now their new Maltese puppy.

Dr. Seliskar received her M.D. from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Virginia. She enjoys all areas of pediatrics, but has a special interest in early childhood development (both normal and delayed), autism, and Asperger’s syndrome.

Dr. Seliskar lives in Midlothian with her husband and son. She enjoys being a soccer mom and traveling.

Amy Bautista was born and raised in the Hampton Roads area. She attended college at James Madison University, majoring in psychology, minoring in biology, with a concentration in pre-med. Soon after graduating with her BS degree in 2002, she attended Johns Hopkins University to earn her bachelor’s of science in nursing as well. She spent eight years as a hospital floor nurse before starting graduate school at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her nursing experience is quite broad, but heavily concentrated in women and children, as well as post anesthesia recovery and neuroscience ICU. She graduated in December of 2014 and is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

Amy lives in the Forest Hill area with her husband Don, toddler twins, Luciana and Michael, a rambunctious hound mix, and a 3-legged cat. Her family loves to be outdoors, and travels back to Virginia Beach to visit family whenever they can.

Amy primarily works at our Bon Air office on Mondays and Wednesdays. She is always accepting new patients and would love to be a positive influence on your child’s preventative and diagnostic healthcare needs.

Dr. Gewanter retired in December of 2015 after many years of an active practice of Pediatric Rheumatology. He will be missed by PAHP and his patients. He is now pursuing a career in advancing the Medical Home Concept and the inclusion in this advancing health care concept more services and organizations than just medical offices.

Dr. Garrity was born and raised in Rochester, New York.

She completed her undergraduate work at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Dr. Garrity received her M.D. from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York and completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Garrity worked in private practice in Northern Virginia for several years prior to settling down in the Richmond area. Dr. Garrity enjoys working with children of all ages and helping families understand and promote their child’s healthy development.

Dr. Garrity resides in Midlothian with her husband and three teenage children. She enjoys running, travel, and staying involved with her children’s activities.
